O-Calc has been specifically developed to aid companies in their efforts to make an accurate assessment of transverse and vertical loads on an existing pole. The program is easy to use, providing an input format that structural and non-structural personnel can follow. A detailed output report summarizes inputs and results. Included among the graphic outputs are:

Once the existing load on a pole is analyzed in O-Calc, it is easy to evaluate the impact of adding cables or increasing the size of conductors.

A database format facilitates storage of pole analyses along with exporting and importing capabilities.

It is easy to add and delete values for the default databases to customize the program to the conductors, cables, etc., that you use. You can manually change all default values of loading factors, etc., to fit your design needs. Databases can be shared with joint-use utilities using O-Calc. Design parameters can be fixed to prevent inadvertent change in the field.

Reference poles can be built with existing or proposed poletop assemblies and picked to produce individual poles. If desired, changing pole lengths automatically changes attachment heights of all items grouped in a poletop assembly.
